The CUSO brings you an awakening and inspiring concert with works from several celebrated composers. Salieri was the teacher of many brilliant composers, but he showcases his own genius in Twenty-six Variations on La Follia di Spagna, one of his few orchestral compositions.

Viennese born, Moscow trained violinist Gernot Winischhofer joins the CUSO to perform Mendelssohn’s renowned Violin Concerto. Mendelssohn’s most famous work, this exuberant and youthful concerto has been delighting audiences for nearly two hundred years.

Dvořák’s seventh symphony was written not only to express support for his people but also to reconcile his internal conflict as a patriot and as a composer. Considered by many to be his most ambitious symphony, Dvořák intended for his seventh symphony to not only further his own career, but also to raise the standing of the Czech people in the eyes of the world.
