Road Song, the acoustic version, consists of John McMahon, on acoustic guitar and vocals, and Ann Schuldt, on bass guitar and backing vocals. Road Song hails from Champaign, Illinois. John has played in various bands around Champaign since graduating from the University of Illinois law school in 1991. In 2007, John released his solo cd, "Dumptruck of Love", which marked a transition to performing mostly acoustically. In mid-2008, John was joined by Ann and Road Song was born. The music is a mix of originals and covers from the likes of the Rolling Stones, Merle Haggard, Bob Dylan, Elvis (both of them), and the Beatles, to name a few. Road Song has played shows from Birmingham, Alabama to Galena, Illinois.

17 year-old Megan Johns grew up in the small urban oasis of Champaign, Illinois-- a town surrounded on all sides by endless fields of corn and soy. Her album Dirty Shoes tells stories of a day rambling through this town of coffee shops, dreamers, maniacs, and bums. Musically, the album features an impressive array of artists, incorporating acoustic and electric guitar, and everything from cello to djembe. Dirty Shoes also features the bassist Peter Hughes, from the indie favorite, Mountain Goats.
"From the moment that the CD first began to play I was blown away. Johns' 10 original songs on 'Dirty Shoes' are a welcome relief from the usual sappy love songs and teen angst that fill commercial radio"
