Montréal’s Cirque Éloize returns for the third part of its Sky Trilogy, having previously enveloped local audiences with the stunning surrealism of Nomade and Rain in 2002 and 2004, respectively. An intoxicating fog rolls in to play the central figure in this installation; it mingles in the air with a bit of Shakespeare and a suspended sense of time and place. As director Daniele Finzi Pasca reassures, “You can’t get lost in the fog; you merely have strange encounters that are not quite mirages or hallucinations. In the fog, reality is transformed into a dream.” This evocative imagery will again showcase the acrobatic prowess, delightful clowning, and enthralling carnival of possibilities that define Cirque Éloize.
