The Brass Rail Tavern marks their 75th anniversary next month with a celebration on their birthday.
The 'Rail is the oldest bar in the area, morphing from a tire shop to the fine watering hole we now know just a few months following passage of the Cullen-Harrison Act which led to the end of prohibition in 1933. The bar's owner grew up in the tavern, and has been behind the bar almost every night for the past 60 years.
Dottie and the 'Rail and Golden Quality will perform, and all in attendance will be entered into a raffle for enviable downtown Champaign swag.
Come for the celebration and the bands. Stay for the cheap PBR and the good times.
