Ceramic artist Erin Furimsky of Bloomington, Illinois, curates this year’s National Biennial Ceramics Invitational based on similar motives in the work of the artists, including an examination of the frequently dismissed mundane objects that surround us all. Figurines, disposable containers, consumer electronics, and other relics of pop culture are mined for their rich cultural, political, and historical significance. This artistic exploration helps to define, comment on, and expose various aspects of one’s relationships with objects as well as each other in our society. Nationally known artists include Pattie Chalmers, Wesley Harvey, Tim Kowalczyk, Stephanie Lanter, Katie Parker, Amy Santoferraro, Kelly A. Schnorr, Benji Schulman, Virginia Scotchie, and Mikey Walsh.
Closed March 26 and 27 for spring holiday
