For several years, the Anita Purves Nature Center has revealed the art of nature by hosting regular shows for photographers, print artists and more whose work features the environment of Illinois and beyond. The current show is by Urbana photographer Cheri Manrique and is titled “My Perspective On Busey Woods.”

In celebration of their 30th Anniversary, the Urbana Park District’s Anita Purves Nature Center is encouraging the community to get out and learn more about their neighborhood and community parks with the Wild About Parks Quest. Twenty letterboxes have been hidden in locations throughout UPD parks and facilities, and ‘questers’ use a clue booklet to seek them out. Prizes are awarded for every 10 boxes located.
