Wednesday April 16th through Monday, May 28th Sandra Batzli is an artist who has lived in Urbana since 1971. Before coming to Illinois, she taught art, exhibited and sold paintings and pottery. Since 1997 she has focused on the medium of transparent watercolor. Her exhibits include several bookstores, the Springer Cultural Center, The Verde Gallery, the Krannert Art Museum’s “Here and Now” show, The Anita Purves Nature Center, the Urbana Civic Center, and any Artisans 10+ exhibit. She won the Award of Achievement at the Hardy Gallery (Ephraim, WI) in the summer of 2003. In 2006 she was awarded Danette Angermeier Memorial Award of Merit at 62nd Annual Wabash Valley Juried Exhibit at Swope Museum, Terre Haute, IN. As part of the Boneyard art festival we invite you to join us for Sanda’s presentation “A Brush with Watercolor” on Saturday, April 19th. She will discuss her techniques and show samples of work in progress.
