Kid A at Canopy Club

Kid A

When people hear the words “Kid A,” it is pretty likely that they will immediately think of the popular Radiohead album from 2000. This Kid A is different; Kid A serves as a tribute to the ever popular rock legend, and they are going to be gracing Champaign-Urbana with their presence Friday, Feb.3!

This band consists of Alan Ruffin on vocals and guitar, Josh Smith and Joe Bianco on percussion, Jonathan Michael on guitar, John Mastro on guitar and keyboard, and Jason Lichon on bass. Formed in 2009, the band tries to bring the complete Radiohead experience to their audience, performing just as energetically as Thom Yorke and the gang would do themselves.

Ruffin considers himself the “African-American” version of Thom Yorke, flailing around on stage just as you would expect Radiohead’s frontman to do. Kid A covers the whole Radiohead career, including both the recent electric beats as well as the guitar-driven rock that they are known for.

For this particular show, Kid A will be performing OK Computer (Radiohead’s third studio album) in its entirety.

Kid A is coming to Canopy Club this Friday, Feb.3. You must be 18+ to attend. Doors open at 8, and the show will go on at 9. Tickets will be $7 at the door. You definitely will not want to miss this opportunity!
