WordPlay’s 2012

So now that 2011 is over, and we’re headed into 2012, it’s time to reflect on the awesome we left behind, and look forward to the awesome yet to come!  And there will be plenty, my friends.  Here is a (somewhat) comprehensive list of (almost) everything happening on campus in theater and literature in 2012.

Literature

There isn’t much news announced yet on the literature side of things; no visiting authors to the university have been announced yet.  However, there are a few things happening that I do know about, icluding two author visits to the local city libraries:

Champaign Public Library: Young adult author Julie Cross for her first book, Tempest on Jan 21

Urbana Free Library: Poet, author, and UIUC prof, Janice Harrington does a poetry reading on Feb 8

Also, if you know about the university’s One Book, One Campus program (see my post), and would like to have some say in to next year’s choice, visit this website to recommend your favorite book for next school year!

Happy 2012, everybody!
