    The Whigs are an up-and-coming garage rock band from Athens, Georgia, that formed in 2002. They are contemporaries of bands such as the Drive By Truckers and Franz Ferdinand. The band takes a minimalist, fast n' dirty approach to music. The band consists of Parker Gispert on guitar, lead vocals and keyboard, Julian Dorio on drums and Tim Deaux on bass. Due to disputes with their record label, they released their 2005 album independently.
