    The Dears are a collective of Montreal area indie rock musicians who formed around the charismatic founder and lead singer, Murray Lightburn in 1995. Their lineup is always changing save Lightburn, with several artists coming and leaving regularly. The Dears have played with several high profile bands over the years, including Sloan, Keane, and Morrisey. The musical complexity of their work has been compared to that of highly technical bands such as Radiohead and Jethro Tull, and their most recent album, 2006's Gang Of Losers, was recently added to the shortlist for the 2007 Polaris Music Prize.
