Based out of Champaign Illinois, The Beauty Shop consists of John Hoeffleur, Ben Ucherek, Eric Fisher. Formed in 1999, the band released the Greif EP that year, and was signed to Parasol Records. 2000 marked the release of the band's debut full length Yr. Money or Yr. Life, and later that year the band was chosen to open for the Violent Femmes in Champaign after OK Go was unable to, giving them exposure on a national scale. After several changes on drums and two hiatuses, the band released their second album Crisis Helpline in the U.K. in 2004 and followed that with Yard Sale in 2006.
