Currently consisting of only Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal, Placebo is an alternative rock band based out of London, England. Since forming in 1994, the group has gained notoriety for lead singer Molko's high pitched vocals and seeming androgeny. After reaching some success in the UK with their singles "Nancy Boy" and "Pure Morning," in the late 1990s, Placebo worked towards gaining and maintaining that style for other countries. 2003's "Sleeping with Ghosts" was a slight departure from their previous work, with more dance and electronica based music. As of 2007, the group is at work on a new album with the two current members.
