Patti Griffin

Patty Griffin, born March 16, 1964, is an American singer-songwriter from Old Town, Maine. She grew up next to the Penobscot Indian Reservation in Maine. Her first album was released in 1996 on A&M records entitled 'Living with Ghosts'. She continued her success with A&M through 2000, when her third album attempt, 'Silver Bell' was never released. As of 2007 she has released a string of albums on ATO Records, 'Children Running Through' dropped in 2007. Griffin has appeared in many movies and plays, she is a respected actress. Her songs have been reworked and covered by artists such as the Dixie Chicks, Linda Ronstadt, and Bette Midler.
