    After many years as friends in Meridan, New Hampshire, Okkervil River released their first EP, Bedroom in 1998. A year later, they released "Stars Too Small To Lose," their first full-length album that featured intimate lyrics and a soft, wintry sound. Soon after the release, they moved to Austin, Texas. Touring extensively, they played at the South by Southwest music festival in 2000 and continued to win acclaim in the indie circuit with their earnest, emotionally driven shows. After 2 more albums, the band recently released Stage Names, affirming their strong hold on the Austin music scene.
