Modest Mouse, one of today's most popular alternative acts, came from humble beginnings in Issaquah, Washington. In 1997, the band released The Lonesome Crowded West, an album that would generate a strong cult following for the band. Modest Mouse had several albums to follow with singles that received modest radio play, but 2004's Good News For People Who Love Bad News brought the band into the mainstream. With the songs "Float On" and "Ocean Breathes Salty," Modest Mouse suddenly had one of the best selling Alternative Rock albums of the year. With 2007's We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank, Modest Mouse hopes to continue winning over listeners and making interesting music.
