Keeping it in the family, Kings of Leon is part garage and part Southern rock. It is composed of three brothers, Nathan, Caleb and Jared Followill and their cousin, Matthew Followill. The name of the group is derived from the name of their father and grandfather. Kings of Leon released their first effort, Holy Roller Novocaine EP in 2003. Youth and Young Manhood, their first full-length was released in the same year. After its release, Kings of Leon quickly rose on to the European scene. Their second full-length effort Aha Shake Heartbreak gave them standing in the United States as well. In 2007, they released Because of the Times which met to instant indie success. Their fourth album, Only By The Night, was released in the summer of 2008. That summer the album went number one in the UK with sales of over 220,000 copies. The boys are expected to tour with their new album material beginning December of 2008.
