Jimmy Eat World was formed in Mesa, Arizona in 1993. They were signed to Capitol Records in 1995 and released Static Prevails in 1996. The band began touring extensively and developed a strong indie fan base. In 1999, Jimmy Eat World released Clarity, which is still seen by many supporters and music critics as a recording masterpiece. Despite being dropped from Capitol in 2000, Jimmy Eat World found mainstream success with their next album, Bleed American. (The title was later changed to Jimmy Eat World following the September 11th attacks.) Their most recent release is entitled Chase This Light and features the single "Big Casino." Jimmy Eat World has evolved considerably throughout the years, constantly reinventing itself but always managing to make catchy, interesting music.
