Jarvis Cocker is a British musician who came to fame as the founder and lead singer of the band Pulp. He also has began a solo career, releasing "Jarvis" in late 2006. Pulp was popular in the U.K. in the early '90s and were most known for their 1994 album "His 'N Hers" and their 1995 album "Different Class." He is known in the U.K. for his insight on British contemporary culture and his opinions are valued very highly by many citizens. His most notable protest came when he jumped on stage to disrupt Michael Jackson's performance at the 1996 BRIT Awards, in which Jackson performed "Christ-like" poses on stage. Cocker jumped on stage, creating a large scene of chaos. Many came to his defense, and his charges of assault were dropped.
