The Jam formed in 1972 in Woking, England. Consisting of Paul Weller, Bruce Foxton, and Rick Buckler, they were the largest act in the mod revival in the late '70s. The Jam had a string of 18 consecutive Top 40 singles from 1977 to their break up in 1982. Their biggest success came in the form of their final of six full length albums, "The Gift." The singles "Town Called Malice"/"Precious" and "Just Who is the 5 O'clock Hero" both reached the Top 5 of the U.K. charts. After it's release, The Jam went on a farewell tour of the U.K., the band broke up and began to work on different musical projects.
