Honcho Overload was an indie rock band based in Champaign-Urbana, IL that was active in the first half of the 90s. The band was made up of people who were previously in other CU bands, including Bad Flannel, We Ate Plato and Poster Children and released two albums, Smiles Everyone in 1993 and Pour Another Drink in 1994. They had two singles on Mud Records before calling it quits in 1995 when Hum reached mainstream success with their single "Stars," essentially taking half the band with them since guitarist Jeff Dimpsey and bassist Matt Talbott were in both bands concurrently, the rest of the band members having since gone on to other projects.
