Herbert, AKA, Matthew Herbert is an experimental studio wizard from the UK who uses digital technology to craft tracks that both have samples and original instrumentation. Herbert's tendency toward matching compositions that sound like they could be heard in a martini lounge with classic female voices, all underneath pumping beats, brings muzak to the dance floor. His most recent album, Scale, expounds on and expands this sound, while keeping with the digital experimentation that made him famous.
