Formed by Jon Spencer of the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion and Matt Verta-Ray of Speedball Baby, Heavy Trash is a rockabilly band based out of New York City. The group combines blues, alternative rock, rockabilly and punk to bring an electic sound to the scene. With two full length releases currently available, 2005's "Heavy Trash" and 2007's "Going Way Out with Heavy Trash," the duo is currently touring in support of their latest album. As both members have an extensive background in music in their separate ventures, Heavy Trash bring a polished musical quality to rockabilly that can only be the sign of past success.
