    This heavy rock quintet was initially named Passerby when they started in 2000. The band, based in Belton, TX consists of vocalist Lacey Mosley, drummer James Culpepper, Sameer Bhattacharya and Jared Hartmann on guitar and Pat Seals on bass. Playing any gig they could get around Texas, the band began to build a large fanbase before going on tour with the likes of Bowling For Soup and Fishbone. In 2003, FlyLeaf was invited to play at the Austin, TX, South By Southwest Music Festival and was immediately signed by Octone in 2004. The band released their self-titled debut album in 2005.
