Originally performing in a band that won a chance to open for The Ramones, Leslie Feist has come a long way from her punk rocking days. Suffering early in her career from a vocal injury, Feist was told she should never sing again. However, she persevered and in 1999, released her first solo album, Monarch(Lay Down Your Jeweled). In 2000, joined Broken Social Scene for their album, You Forgot It In People. The album gained critical acclaim and Feist toured with the band at this point. Because of this, her next solo effort, Let It Die, was not released until 2004 on Arts and Crafts Records. Her latest release, 2007's The Reminder has been heard everywhere from iPod commercials to HBO's summer promotionals. She continues to tour consistently.
