Ska revivialist's English Beat formed in 1978 as a multiracial band that had a distinct sound consisting of traded vocals and tight backing as well as 50-year-old saxiphonist Saxa's credibly crooning. Their early ’80s singles were hits in the U.K. and were compiled, along with other material on their debut album "I Just Can't Stop." 1982's "Special Beat Service" brought the band more U.S. exposure through MTV with sons like "Save it for Later" and "I Confess," but later that year they disbanded the group. Members of the group later went on to form Fine Young Cannibals, notable for their single, "She Drives Me Crazy."
