Primarily a solo artist, Emitt Rhodes has drawn heavy comparisons to both The Beatles and Paul McCartney. Based out of California, the singer-songwriter started his career in the 1960’s with the groups The Palace Guard and The Merry-Go-Round. His first solo effort, 1970’s “Emitt Rhodes” reached number 29 on the Billboard charts fueled by successful single “Fresh as a Daisy.” Signed to Dunhill Records, Rhodes released three more albums before he was unable to fulfill the demands of the label to produce new music every six months. After 1973’s “Farwell to Paradise,” Rhodes left the performing aspect of the business to work as a recording engineer and producer.
