Electric Light Orchestra, or ELO as they are often referred to as, were a hugely successful English rock group in the 1970's. The main member Jeff Lynne wrote highly melodic rock songs with classical embellishments that, despite an ever changing backing line-up, brought strong fan support throughout the decade. The band's most persistent hit, "Evil Woman," was released in 1975 on the album "Face the Music." As the band's popularity petered out in the late 80's Lynne continued work as a sought-after producer, and eventually becoming a member of supergroup The Travelling Willbury's."
