    Originally based in Athens, Elf Power started as a four-track recording project that released small self-released cassette recordings in the mid-90's. They moved to New York City, minus Bryan Poole, who is also involved with Of Montreal, and released "The Winter Hawk EP." Eventually core members Andrew Rieger and Laura Carter moved back to Athens and released several more albums. In 2004 they released "Walking with the Beggar Boys" to much critical acclaim.
