    Eagles of Death Metal is not really death metal. The band has a more garage rock sound then death metal. Jesse Hughes and Josh Homme started the band back in 1997, but due to success with Homme's other band Queens of the Stone Age, their album was delayed. In 2004 they released their first album " Peace, Love, Death Metal". They were a literal commercial success with many of their songs featuring in commercials for Payless and Wendy's along with movies like Thank You For Smoking and Grindhouse. In 2006 the band released their sophomore album "Death by Sexy". They started to tour with bands like The Strokes and Guns and Roses. After performing before Guns and Roses the band was not well received by the crowd and was asked not to continue the tour. Otherwise the band was brought back up and plan on releasing their third album in 2008.
