What's has rocking guitar riffs, a hardcore sound and bagpipes? Dropkick Murphys that is. This celtic punk band has brought a brand new genre of music fusing punk, hardcore with celtic music. They formed in 1996 in Quincy, Boston, Massachusetts. Lead singer Mike McColgan left the band a year after forming the band. So he was replaced with The Bruisers lead singer Al Barr. The rest of the band consists of Marc Orrell, Tim Brennan, James Lynch, Ken Casey, Matt Kelly and Scruffy Wallace. In 1998 they released their first album Do or Die and have released 5 albums after that. The band has found a lot of success especially in Boston with their song "Tessie" which was named the official World Series song for the Boston Red Sox. They have a huge fan base keeping the band constantly touring and special St. Patrick shows of course.
