The Didjits were a punk rock band based locally out of Mattoon, Illinois. Formed in 1983, the band was comprised of Rick Sims, Doug Evans, and Brad Sims. They released released 7 full lengths and 7 inches on Chicago's Touch and Go Records. They were known for their trashy lyrics and stunts on stage during shows. Their most well-known albums were 1988's "Hey Judester", which featured a cover of Little Richard's "Lucielle", and 1990's "Hornet Pinata", which featured "Killjoy Powerhead", a song that would later be covered by The Offspring for their 1994 album "Smash". The Didjits disbanded in 1994, but the original members reunited for a show in September 2006 for a reunion show here in Champaign.
