    Daft Punk is perhaps the most recognized and certainly one of the most celebrated electronic music acts of all time. The French duo consists of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Cristo and Thomas Bangalter.

    When they started under the name Darlin', one music magazine attacked them, calling them "a bunch of daft punk"; instead of taking this criticism to heart, after Darlin' disbanded they turned it around and renamed themselves Daft Punk.

    The band uses a combination of synthesizers, drums and samples to create energetic, genre-defying music. Like their spiritual predecessors, Pink Floyd, Daft Punk orchestrates extremely visually oriented live shows complete with lasers, elaborate costumes and monitors.
