Curb Service
Starting off by writing and singing for a short-lived band named King Pelican in 1993, Curb Service is recognized as being one of the great local acts in the area. Guitarist and song writer Larry Gates has two albums, 2007's "Little Red Recovery Room" and "Fly Casual," which was written, recorded, and produced by Gates.
Curb Service's sound can be compared to Beck and Soul Coughing with the use of turntables, combining of different beats, and catchy pop hooks. Playing gigs at venues including The Highdive, the Bitter End in New York, and the Abbey Pub and Millennium Park in Chicago, Curb Service has had the pleasure with performing with artists Eureka Brown and Mordechai in the Mirror, Belikos, Organic Flow, and Sangamon. You can download his latest work "Fly Casual" on his website at http://www.curbservicemusic.com. Curb Service's upcoming shows will be at Cowboy Monkey on April 4 and at the IMC on April 18.
