Chip McNeill, currently an Associate Professor and Chairman of Jazz Studies at The University of Illinois, has accomplished a lot on the local, national, and international level. The jazz tenor saxophonist’s specialty is nightclub and concert performances of Jazz, Rhythm & Blues, Pop, Rock, and Funk. He has toured the US, Europe, Japan, Australia, India and Indonesia as a jazz soloist, performing at festivals such as The North Sea Jazz Festival and the Montreaux Jazz Festival, all the while as collaborating with many renowned artists. His “Hot House” CD earned him a Grammy Award for “Best Latin Jazz Performance” in 1999.

Closer to home, McNeill can be seen performing at the Iron Post, as well as many other venues. His most current album is “Four Steps-3” and watch out for the next one, which is slated for release late next summer.

McNeill is currently touring the world with the Arturo Sandovsl Quinetet as a jazz saxophone soloist and Musical Director.
