Built around the husband-and-wife team of Heather Dillon and Nic Dillon, Casados' music is lush, luminous alternative-folk. Since beginning the project in 2005, the duo has frequently invited both friends and acquaintances to perform with them. One month, they might have seven people on stage; the next month it's two. One show, you'll see a banjo; the next, you'll see an accordion.

After releasing an EP in 2007 and traveling the length and breadth of America, the duo decided it was time to sit down and make a proper album. In the process of recording, many things happened. First, Nic suffered a severe head and back injury, which put him out of commission for months. Then, right as things were starting up again, his mother was diagnosed with cancer. All of this forced the Dillon's to put many things on hold in 2008.

So far, 2009 has been a less-tragic and much more-productive year. With a debut full-length nearly finished, Casados plans to begin touring again during the last half of 2009.
