As a young independent musician, Carl Hauck has already released three self-recorded albums. After a self-titled album in 2004 and "Something to Laugh About" the following year, February 2008 saw the release of "Counter Intelligence," which Innocent Words Magazine called "an exciting step forward," adding that "if Hauck isn't up-and-coming, he'll be sorely overlooked."
After mentioning how he misses the "communal aspect of music," Hauck discusses how much he enjoys collaborating with friends while recording his songs. To name a few, he has worked with Fred de Albuquerque, a college roommate and former member of TRS-80; Bryan Kveton, Brian Trahan, and Dan Yadron of the Butterfly Assassins; and the talented Molly Robison. Hauck and de Albuquerque recorded the song "Coffee on the Rocks" for 2008's Green Street Records compilation.
