Caribou, stage name of Daniel Snaith, sounds like a smart blend of mathematics and electronica. This shouldn't be a surprise knowing that Snaith has a doctorate in mathematics. Originally recording under the name Manitoba, Snaith was forced to change his name after a legal battle. He first began recording music as Manitoba in 2000, with the release of the People Eating Fruit EP. His first full-length as Caribou was a re-release of a Manitoba full-length called Start Breaking My Heart. His follow-up Up in Flames was another Manitoba re-release. In the fall of 2007, Caribou released his fourth studio album, Andorra. Caribou's live shows are uniquely marked with the use of projection systems.
