The Canadian supergroup, Broken Social Scene, formed in 1999 in Toronto, Canada. The group's core members, Kevin Drew and Brendan Canning, released their debut instrumental album, Feel Good Lost in 2001 with the help of Charles Spearin, Bill Priddle, and Justitn Peroff. To make their music more dynamic with vocals and lyrics they invited their friends Andrew Whiteman, Jason Collett, Emily Haines and Leslie Feist with help throughout their career from James Shaw, Evan Cranley, John Crossingham, Lisa Lobsinger and Stars' Amy Millan. After the recruitment of the various musicians, the band created their second album, You Forgot It In People in 2002, which became widely successful and received ecstatic reviews. On October 4, 2005, Broken Social Scene released their third full-length album, self-titled with contributors such as k-os, Murray Lightburn and Jason Tait. The band will be taking a hiatus following the end of their fall tour, although members of the band will continue to make appearances within each other's individual projects.
