    Beirut is Zach Condon, who released his first album in 2006. Hailing from Santa Fe, New Mexico, Condon is known for his Eastern European Folk sound, especially his trade mark trumpet. Condon has collaborated with A Hawk and a Hacksaw, who lend their instrumental talents to his recordings, and lent his own playing to Alaska in Winter's Album Balkan Dance Party. Gulag Orkestar, Beirut's first LP, was released in 2006, along with the EP Lon Gisland, which featured the single "Elephant Gun." Beirut followed up these releases with The Flying Club Cup in 2007.
