Chicago's prominent punk, hardcore rock scene shines a big light on band Alkaline Trio. Matt Skiba, guitarist/vocals, Dan Andriano on bass/vocals, and Derek Grant on drums/back-up vocals sing songs about alcoholism, depression and fire. They have released about 7 albums since their very first in 1998 with small record label Asian Man Records. They were later signed by Vagrant Records in 2005 along with having a long list of band members in and out from other close bands. They have defined the punk music scene in Chicago with their up beat tempos and extremely catchy melodic tunes. The underground punk stars have created a somewhat successful career especially after switching record labels. In 2007 it was rumored the band signed with Epic and later confirmed on their myspace page. The band is looking for even more commercial success.
