    A.C. Newman is a solo act from the critically acclaimed band The New Pornographers. Carl Newman has been involved with several bands in Canada. He was apart of Zumpano a Vancouver BC pop/rock act and a couple other bands in the 90s. He was out of the music scene until The New Pornographers became an indie smash hit in 2000. Carl Newman is the genius songwriter behind The New Pornographers but has shown that he maybe better off on his own. Newman's first solo album debuted back in 2004 called Slow Wonder. It received great reviews and an 8.8 rating from pitchforkmedia.com. Some would say his work is epic worthy and many critics would agree.
