1. Etc. Coffeehouse - The Etc. Coffeehouse, on the corner of Goodwin and Green, is home to the LGBT Coffeehouse program. Every Tuesday during the school year, the LGBT Resources Office holds the Coffeehouse, a program where LGBT and allied students can meet to get to know each other. Its a great place to get some homework done, have a coffee and become active in the LGBT community.
2. Chester Street -Chester St, also known as C-Street, has been the staple LGBT scene in Champaign for awhile. With a great dance floor, pool tables, and 2 bars, this is a great place to un-wind and let loose on the weekends.
3. Bar Giuliani -According to outtraveler.com Champaign is one of the most LGBT friendly college towns around. The website features Bar Giuliani as one of the top hang-outs. With Giuliani's decadent gellato and steamy coffee drinks, it's a great place to gather with friends or indulge in me-time.
4. The Union -The Union is shared by all of U of I's campus, but provides great resources for the LGBT community. The Union hosts Rainbow Coffee Houses's,conferences, holds meetings and many more LGBT events. The U of I wants to reach out to each and every student in their community, and the Union is a great place to gather for exactly that.
5. Community United Church of Christ - Sometimes finding a church can be difficult. You want to be able to be yourself and express your beliefs regardless of gender or sexual preference. Community United Church of Christ is located on 805 S. Sixth Street. This church is open and affirming to the LGBT community. Finally, a place of real peace.

I find it interesting and heartening that 2 of the top 5 places you mentioned are church-affiliated.
