As Halloween is quickly creeping up on us, the shelves are overflowing with a plethora of various treats to satisfy nearly anyone. Though tastes vary greatly, here are a few universal favorites.
“Fun-sized”chocolate bars-Halloween would not be complete without at least some chocolate in the mix. The “fun-size” is more economic, will last longer and is, well, fun. Another perk is that even after Halloween you get stuck with leftover candy, somehow eating 10 “fun-sized” candies seems healthier than one full-sized bar.
Caramels-Whether covering apples, in suckers, or on its own, caramel is essential for Halloween. Pure sugar equals pure energy in the Halloween season, and by the time those children reach that ultimate sugar-high they will be someone else’s problem and far away from your house.
Popcorn balls-Nothing is quite the same as taking a huge bite of a popcorn ball and having it stick to your teeth. They make the list for sheer tooth-rotting pleasure as well as something a little different to shake up the season.
Sour Candy-Sour treats will always be popular, no matter how disgusting or unbearable. Things that ooze, pop and pucker appeal to kids in way adults will never understand. Also, the more obnoxious the packaging, the better.
Candy Corn-Ah, candy corn. The hard, nasty kernels that plague the entire fall season. Though no Halloween candy list would be the complete without them, reserve candy corn for those children who ruin your garden or blast their music at 3 a.m.

I stand by my conviction that there is nothing fun about "fun-sized". Sure, eating 10 mini candy bars seems like being less of a pig than binging on full-sized ones, but all the unwrapping is a pain in the butt.
