Boneyard Arts Festival: Illini Juggling and Unicycle Club »
  • Event has already occurred

Among the various activities featured in the Boneyard Arts Festival, the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts is sponsoring the Illini Juggling and Unicycle Club Show on Sunday, April 18, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The uniquely talented crew will be performing in Mahomet, at Rt. 150, by Chef Benjamin.

The club, established in 1983, is a registered student organization of the University. Members juggle, ride unicycles and perform other circus arts. It is the only juggling club at the university and throughout the CU area. Members practice their talents in the Armory every Monday from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Anyone is welcome to join in on the circus fun; no experience is needed. The group also is available to perform for private events.

Monica Cella, junior in ACES, loves the idea of a circus crew on campus.

“That’s something I’ve never seen before, but I think it’d be really fun to go watch with a big group of friends,” she said.

The eighth annual Boneyard Arts Festival will be going on for four days, from April 15 through April 18. It is free of charge. Different performances and displays ranging from world music and art to puppet shows will be featured at different locations throughout Champaign County. Main locations include downtown Champaign and Urbana, as well as on campus.

Sarah Bricker, junior in AHS, has heard of the festival but hasn’t had a chance to attend in her four years at the university.

“It’s on my list of things to do before I graduate. I feel like I haven’t experienced enough of what the area has to offer, and I would like to before it’s too late,” she said.
