Though Xinh Xinh Cafe has been open for several weeks, Friday the cafe had its grand opening and ribbon cutting complete with a visit from Urbana mayor Laurel Lunt Prussing. The Vietnamese restaurant, located on North Vine Street near Schnuck’s in Urbana may be small but the menu is extensive and the service, personal.

Owner, Shi Mauth says he always tries to relate to customer on a one-on-one level. One way he does this is by explaining all of his dishes in detail. The menu includes eight appetizers, 14 “banh mi” sandwiches and six “pho” noodle soups, a Xinh Xinh specialty, each of which is under $10. The cafe also has a multitude of unique drink options including Egg Soda, Plum Soda and an Avocado Shake. It should be noted that Xinh Xinh Cafe only accepts cash at this time. In any case, Urbana finally has a Vietnamese restaurant to call its own.
