Champaign Park District Jazz & Rib Fest »

The second annual Champaign Jazz and Rib Festival will take place this Sunday, July 26 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. This exciting annual event will feature live jazz music and food. The Rib Fest will take place in Douglass Park at 512 E. Grove Street in Champaign. Admission to the fest is free of cost, and Almeda Wright, program coordinator for Douglass Park, said the atmosphere is very family oriented. Free parking is available near the event along Grove Street. Handicapped parking is available in the Douglass Park Center circle drive, located in front of the building. Blues BBQ in Urbana will be at the event selling various foods from their flavorful BBQ menu. Live jazz bands from the surrounding area will be playing at the event, and the music starts at 4 p.m.

“We want everyone to just come out and have a good time,” Wright said.
