Taste of the Arts
Taking a Bite Out of Art

Through the doors of 500 S. Goodwin, hues of gold fill a spacious lobby, creating an ornate center where the arts convene. Saturday, Nov. 3, Krannert Center will be home to the annual Taste of the Arts Festival hosted by the Krannert Center Student Association. The free community festival consists of two stages featuring 10 to 15 minute student performances.
“If you don’t like something, just wait a few minutes, and there will be something new,” said Vanessa Bordo, Co-Director of Community Outreach of the KCSA.
The performances range from salsa dancing to sign language. With juggling, a cappella groups and theater, Taste of the Arts is a pressure-free environment that will allow you to experience many aspects of the art realm. An art gallery will showcase Krannert’s Costume Department, photography by the Society of Architectural Historians and a display from the UIUC Art Club. Refreshments from The Cookie Jar and a cake-decorating demonstration will satisfy your craving for culinary arts.
“My favorite part of TOTA is the variety — break dancing to ballet,” Bordo said. “There’s not one type [of art]. You can just go and be entertained.”
With artistic happenings for all interests and ages, including a kid’s craft corner, everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.
This festival runs from 12 to 4 p.m. Let your senses taste the varied flavors of the arts.
