Superbowl treats

Feb. 03, 2008 - by Mary Hankey – Buzz writer

Superbowl Sunday is just around the corner and we all know that means; an opportunity to party on a Sunday without judgment. Need a new recipe to dazzle all of your friends? Or a tasty snack to soak up all of the Keystone Light you drank during the pre-game beer pong? Look no further. Here are the best recipes to get your taste buds fired up in time for the 5:17 P.M. kickoff.

Lori’s Taco Dip

Directions: Spread cream cheese out in a cake pan. Then layer it with chili, drain jalapenos, spread out over chili and top with shredded cheese. Place in the oven at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes (or until cheese is melted.) Serve with tortilla or pita chips, veggies or anything else you have lying around that would mesh well.

Lit’l Smokies

Directions: Mix everything together and cook in a crock pot for an hour or on the stove for about 30 minutes. No Superbowl party is complete without these little treats. For a summery variation, substitute barbeque sauce in place of the jelly and chili sauce.

No beans in the dip? For shame... All dips taste better with beans. :)
