Sometimes a movie can be so ridiculous, illogical and stupid but still considered fun to watch. Road House definitely falls into this category and is one of my favorite guilty pleasures that many of you probably haven’t seen.

The film follows Dalton Russell (Patrick Swayze), a bouncer known nationwide as the best in the business. Dalton is lured away from his posh New York City bar to become the head bouncer at the nightclub, The Double Deuce, in the small town of Jasper, Mo. When Dalton gets to the club, he sees that the place is in very poor shape with fights breaking out nightly. Dalton eventually cleans up the place, which upsets Brad Wesley (Ben Gazzara), a crime boss who is responsible for the violence and has the whole town in his pocket. Dalton recruits his longtime bouncer friend Wade Garrett (Sam Elliott) to help him fight back against Wesley and clean up the town along with the bar.

Sure, the plot is ridiculous, and the dramatic scenes are laughable, but that all adds to the charm of the film. With hilarious quotes such as “Pain don’t hurt,” it’s nearly impossible not to have a good time while watching this movie.

Road House has everything that a B-action movie should have: over-the-top villains whose choices make little sense, brutally graphic action scenes, loads of profanity and excessive nudity. If you’re looking for a pure, hardcore ’80s action movie, then Road House should be at the top of your list.

Dalton's last name is not Russell! It's simply Dalton. One man, one name, two fists.

To you I say, EPIC FAIL.
